Network Assessment Service
What’s on your network?
With the surge in popularity of social networking and an increasing number of recreational applications utilising ‘port hopping’ techniques or disguising themselves as web applications, keeping track of what is happening on your network is becoming extremely difficult. You can no longer assume that just because you have ports blocked at the firewall these applications aren’t running. Lack of visibility can make even the simplest task extremely difficult. So just imagine tackling complex jobs like meeting rising performance expectations for your network whilst keeping costs down. Traditionally the reaction is to throw money at more bandwidth, but is that really the best solution?
In fact, it’s only when you have visibility into your network activity that you can make intelligent decisions about what solutions are most beneficial. Having visibility will allow you to see what percent of your bandwidth is going towards YouTube, Facebook and iTunes for example, and what percentage is going towards business critical applications. With the facts in hand, you can then make informed decisions.
In a nutshell, if you can’t see what’s happening then you can’t even begin to improve your network and application performance.
